Fable 3…Will it be good…or evil?

As the final date of Fable 3′s release to the United States creeps ever nearer, we should remind ourselves of the past Fable expeditions. Fable had an amazing entry into the world of Role Playing Game (RPG) video gaming. The anticipation was almost overwhelming for people like me who drool over any sort of RPG with a fantasy element. But with the passage of time, gamers became aware of the fact that the game was very limited as far as RPG’s go. There were set paths and very few side quests, and while the story was well written, it was entirely too short. So with these comments/complaints in mind, Lionhead Studios, creators of the Fable series, spewed forth a revised edition of the game: Fable: The Lost Chapters. This was just the original game that had a slightly longer storyline and a few more side quests. It also meant only a few more hours of gameplay. With this semi-flop, Lionhead began fixing many problems by letting characters be either sex, go anywhere off the beaten path, and even have an unlimited use of magic. Thus was born Fable 2. It was a 500 year leap forward from where Fable left off. And while the controls improved immensely, I am a strong believer that the story was left by the wayside. It was riveting until the end (spoiler alert!!) where all the hero did to defeat the “boss” was to pull the trigger. While “realistic”, it was very anticlimatic. But the game left off in a mystery which did add some anticipation for the next in the series.
So here we are with Fable 3, and where does the story begin? Anywhere BUT where Fable 2 left off!!! Though this cannot be confirmed as the game has yet to hit stores, the trailers are making it pretty clear how this game works. In looking at the videos and footage being shown, it is clear that the graphics will be phenomenal and that the story might actually be stronger than it’s predecessors, yet the curious cat is finding its way to its doom right now because the tantalizing question still remains prominent: Will Lionhead Studios finally capture all the qualities of an RPG while maintaining an excellent level of commitment to actual quality of gameplay and storyline? We shall see on OCT 26 when the game hits stores like the lightning bolt it appears to be. I’m a big fan, so I’ll just pre-order mine right now!

Time management. I’ll say it again…and more slowly…TIME-MANAGEMENT. This is the factor that ends up being the ace in the hole for some. For others, like me, it is the bear trap in the path. Reader beware, the truth looms before you. I’ve felt the sting of poor time management more often than not, and it hurts. It is still hurting. I know that there are a lot more entertaining things to do, rather than just sit in your bedroom and fall asleep to the boring text in that school textbook or those dull numbers in your checkbook. Trust me…I know. I am a BIG fan of escapism. You know, that ideology where you just want to go hide in your own little comfortable niche in the world or even some other world. But video games and books for entertainment and even going out to eat are all things that could possibly ruin you if they go on for too long, or continuously get in the way of what you need to do. My weakness is excuses. If I can’t get something done one way, I avoid doing it until I can find where or when I can get a task done that one specific way. And then I find that I’ve done this to a lot of tasks and I get overloaded and frustrated and I hate the world and everything in it until i feel like I have to burst open and pour all this anger out onto the sidewalk, because I know that in not getting things done I am tarnishing my own reputation, letting people who trust me down, and failing at what I should be excelling in. Yeah, the sting is brutal. But it can be avoided if you just make yourself do what you need to do when you need to get it done. It really is that simple. Say no to going out, or say no to that video game. Do it for three weeks and then see where you are. Just for good measure, I’ll do it too. I hate being frustrated and feeling rushed, so it’s time I fight my inner urge to be a bump on a log and try to be a trump card in this poker game we call our lives.

I suppose this is where I introduce myself…

Bonjour!  Hola!  I wish I knew more languages!  But I don’t…so I’ll just stick with that good ol’ “hello” word.  Yeah, I know, it is rather dull and uninteresting, but, hey, at least it gets the job done (which is more than I can say for a lot of other words…*cough*…”um, uh, well…”…).  And yes, I do know that I totally put a truck-load of periods in that parantheses.  I have to throw some unexpected grammar in there just to change things up once in a while.  Change is fantastic, though.  Nothing else gives a person a chance to face a good challenge like some consistent change!  But, I digress from my greeting, and now I give my salutation, for I must bid thee fair reader adeiu and be on my merry way elsewhere.  Until we meet again splendid soul, farewell!  (Don’t worry, it won’t be long…seriously, don’t worry.)
